Spot on - for lice. Does it work?

There is a huge difference between seasonal shedding and the hair loss caused by lice, so if you think the hair loss is excessive, it probably is lice.

I wouldn't advise using dog Spot on, the dose is far too low for a horse. Farm stores will sell you Spot on for cattle and sheep, which my (farm) vet says is safe and effective to use on horses. We have had a lice infestation this winter, picked up from local untreated horses, in the very mild weather. Spot on cleared it up with no trouble. Cooper's Fly Repellent Plus works too.
