Ok so bit of background
Around end of December Ruby became stiff, not lame but just stiff, had her on lunge one day and she just didn't look right, YO watched and agreed not lame but stiff. Gave her a week off and then lunged again and all fine. Within a week stiff in front again.
Pysio came out and noted she was sore and tight in shoulders, back and extremely bad on her hind.
Got saddler out who took a bit of flocking out but apart from that said it was a perfect fit.
Had teeth done, all fine there!
Got pysio back out and hind and back now ok, no improvement on her shoulders.
I've been hacking mostly and schooling doing some bending exercises to help her bend and supple. The last 2 times I've ridden every other stride Ruby has chucked her head up in the air, text pysio and she said sounds like a pain response to her shoulders being sore. Trots up sound on hard and soft ground.
Pysio is coming next week again,if no improvement to shoulders what route would you go down?
I've wracked my brains to think of what has changed recently as never had this problem before, I've had her almost 5 years. Only thing I can think of is that I switched farrier in September as I moved yard. My old farrier left her feet quite flat and long. New farrier is lifting her heels up as said she was very flat before, I actually prefer the way she is shod now. Would this be a cause do you think?
She is quite happy in herself and more then happy to go silly in her field!
what next?
